Asterisk PBX

We assume that you already have a computer with Asterisk installed and configured. So you can make test calls from the telephones connected to your PBX.

The goal is to make it possible for your phones to call FreeConferenceCallHD.

Requirements:

  • Asterisk v1.6 or later (http://www.asterisk.org/)

  • Hard IP phones (like Polycom) or Soft Phones (like x-lite) connected your PBX

It is highly recommended that your phones support G.722 as it is primary high definition codec for FreeconferenceCallHD.

Changing config files:

Asterisk:
  1. sip.conf

    Most likely you only need to make sure that G.722 is mentioned among the supported codecs. Check that “general” section looks like the one below

     [general] context=default dtmfmode=rfc2833 disallow=all allow=g722 allow=ulaw allow=ilbc allowguest = yes 
    
  2. extensions.conf

    You need to add the following line into the appropriate context. 0000 is the extension you need to dial from your phone to get connected to FreeConferenceCallHD

     exten => 0000,0,Dial(SIP/0000000000@voice.freeconferencecallhd.com) 
    
  3. To reload configs connect to asterisk console and run:

    sip reload

    extensions reload

AudioCodes

Audio Codes 320HD is a high-definition IP phone, improving the productivity and efficiency of communications with advanced quality standards. Newer models are available but the configuration procedure is the same. Follow the instructions below to setup your IP phone. For further information and instructions.

How to connect from:

  • Hard IP phone Audio Codes 320HD

    We assume that you already have Audio Codes IP phone connected to the network and powered up. Most likely the telephone is already connected to the office PBX. The simplest way to let you call to WYDE HD bridge would be to configure your PBX. In this case you’ll dial some short number and your PBX will forward the call to the bridge over IP network. Please contact your PBX administrator for more details.

    If for some reason connecting from the PBX is not feasible – you will still should be able to connect to the bridge directly from your telephone. Although in some rare cases your firewall may prevent you from making outbound calls. If it is the case – please contact your network administrator.

    1. Find out IP of your telephone

    2. Press “Menu” then chose “Status”, “Network status”

  • Open “http:// :8000/ ; login admin, default password is 1234

  • Go to “Configuration” / “Personal settings” / “Speed dial” and configure a some speed dial button to 0000000000@00.000.000.000

  • Press “Submit”

  • Done

Now you should be able to call the WYDE HD bridge by pressing your speed dial button.

  • To initiate the call, select the freeconferencecallhd contact and click on the green call button.

  • Once prompted for the access code, click on the down arrow button for other call options.

  • Select display dial pad and use the dial pad to enter your access code.

Counterpath/X-Lite 5

Counterpath’s X-Lite 5 is a leading free SIP based softphone. Follow the instructions blow to setup your softphone. For further information and instructions.

  1. Download and Install

  2. After installation is complete, click Finish and the X-Lite 4 will launch. Next, open “Account Settings” as shown in the figure below

  3. On the next form fill the following fields

    • User ID (your short name, can be anything)

    • Domain (should be voice.freeconferencecallhd.com)

    • Display Name (your full name)

  4. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab and check “Send outgoing requests directly to target”. When complete, click ‘Ok’

  5. To add a contact click the Add a Contact icon or right-click on an existing group and choose ‘Add Contact to Group’.

The Contact Profile dialog will appear. Fill out the following Information:

  • Display as – this field is used to identify the contact. For example: FreeConferenceCallHD or Suzie’s Conference Line

  • Softphone – in this field enter your FreeConferenceCallHD dial-in number followed by @voice.freeconfererencecallhd.com

    For example: If your dial-in number is (000) 000-0000 you will enter the following string “0000000000@voice.freeconferencecallhd.com”

  • To make a call, either type the name of the contact that you have added to the contact list (the ‘display as’ name) or enter your FreeConferenceCallHD dial-in number followed by “@voice.freeconferencecallhd.com” and click ‘Call’

Flash Phone

1. Click on the Flash phone button to launch the dialer.

2. Click on the “list of numbers” drop down menu and select your dial-in number Then type in your access code and name then press click “place call”







3. Click “allow” to allow the flash phone to access your microphone, you will then be joined to your conference


FreeSwitch

We assume that you already have a computer with FreeSwitch PBX installed and configured. So you can make test calls from the telephones connected to your PBX.

The goal is to make it possible for your phones to call FreeConferenceCallHD.

Requirements:
  • FreeSwitch 1.0.4 or later (http://www.freeswitch.org)

  • Hard IP phones (like Polycom) or Soft Phones (like x-lite) connected your PBX

It is highly recommended that your phones support G.722 as it is primary high definition codec for FreeconferenceCallHD.

Changing config files:

FreeSwitch:
  1. Create gateway description ( freeswitch_home/conf/sip_profiles/external/fcchd.xml):

  2. Create dialplan ( freeswitch_home/conf/dialplan/default/fcchd.xml):

  3. When user calls to 0000 he should get into FreeConferenceCallHD.

The method described above is not the only one, but it is probably the simplest.

Managing Contacts

You can store a large number of contacts in your phone’s directory. Contact your system administrator for the exact number.

You can add, edit, delete, dial, or search for a contact in this directory.

Adding Contacts

You can add a contact manually or from a call list.

Adding Contacts Manually
  1. Press the Directories key highlight and select Contact Directory.

  2. Press the More soft key and the Add soft key

    Press the More soft key and the Add soft key

  3. Enter a name for FCC HD from the keypad.

    Use the soft key to select between numeric and upper/lowercase alphanumeric modes. Use the Encoding soft key to access special characters in other languages.

  4. Enter the contact number

    0000000000@00.000.000.000. This is a required field and it must be unique (not already in the directory).

  5. Press the Save or Cancel soft keys to accept or cancel changes.

  6. Press the Menu key to return to the idle screen

Snom

Snom 320 is a high-definition IP phone, improving the productivity and efficiency of communications with advanced quality standards. Follow the instructions below to setup your IP phone. For further information and instructions.

Please have your Snom IP phone connected to the network and powered up.

Dialing a SIP address

  1. Enter the FreeConferenceCallHD.com SIP address via the alphanumeric block.

  2. The address is 0000000000@00.000.000.000

  3. To find the “.”, press the numeric key “1″ in small capital or small letter mode once.

  4. To find the “@” symbol, press the numeric key “1″ twice.

Terminating the call

End calls by placing the handset on its cradle, pressing the hook switch, or pressing . The snom 320 will terminate the call and return to the idle state.
