Command Description
Mute This is a muting function for the host. The Mute drop-down has four functionalities. The default is Mute Off for open conversation. Select Mute to mute all participants except the host(s). Participants can unmute themselves by pressing *6. Select Lecture to mute participants except the host(s) and prevent participants from unmuting. Participants will hear the voice prompt, “Muted.” To resume open conversation, select Mute Off.
Record This feature allows the host to record conference calls from the computer screen. To start recording, toggle to green/On. Participants hear the voice prompt, “This conference call is being recorded.” To stop and save the recording, toggle back to red/Off. Participants hear the voice prompt, “Recording has stopped.”
Hold This feature allows the host to place all participants on hold. To place all participants on hold, toggle to green/On. Participants hear the voice prompt, “This line is now on hold,” followed by hold music. To remove from hold, toggle back to red/Off.
Individual Hold This feature allows the host to place an individual participant on hold. Under Controls on the Participant List, click Pause for the participant you want to place on hold. When hold is activated, the pause icon turns blue with a slash through it. The participant will hear the voice prompt, “This line is now on hold.” To remove from hold, click Pause again.
Lock This feature allows the host to block anyone else from joining the conference call. To block participants, click ON under Lock. To unlock the conference, click OFF.
Mute Individual This feature allows the host to mute an individual participant. Under Controls on the Participant List, click Microphone for the participant you want to mute. When mute is activated, the microphone icon turns blue with a slash through it. To unmute, click Microphone again.
Caller Name This feature allows the host to identify participants on the call by name rather than calling number. Locate Caller on Participant List and click Pencil next to the caller number you want to edit. In the Custom Name pop-up, type the participant’s name and click Confirm. The name displays before the caller number on the Participant List.
Q&A session This feature allows the host to organize how participants ask questions. To start Q&A, select Q&A from the drop-down list. Participants hear the voice prompt, “Q&A session has started. To ask your question, please press *6.” Participants are prompted to press 1 to confirm and are placed in the Q&A queue. The host can click a participant name or caller number to allow the participant to ask a question. Click End Session at any time to end Q&A and unmute all participants.
Drop This feature allows the host to drop an individual participant from the conference call. Click X next to the participant you want to drop from the conference call. In the confirmation pop-up, click Yes to drop the caller or No to cancel. A disconnected participant will hear the voice prompt, “Goodbye.”
Broadcaster This feature allows the host to broadcast uploaded audio files and previously recorded conference calls during active conferences. Select Broadcaster from the main navigation. From the Broadcaster page, upload a file or select a previously recorded conference call to playback over an active conference call. Click Broadcast to the left of the file you want to play. Stop, resume and pause broadcasting at any time.
